Two strikingly handsome and charming thespians in Stratford-on-Avon preparing for the late Shakespeare plays-"The Tempest", "A Winter's Tale" and "Pericles". Their ambitions are to play King Lear and Hamlet, respectively.

We traveled a lot by tube in London. This terminal was a frequent connecting station. "London Bridge" is now in Arizona
"Elephant and Castle " along the canal. Sorry to say we did not make it to this one. (The one in London is now a sports bar-very modern and a big disappointment)

Charlie Girl takes her people to Tryon Creek park a few miles from our home on a day in early spring.
An emergency dental care need landed a merchant seaman from the Phillipines ashore in Portland Oregon. Due to Rose Festival, many major streets were closed to traffic, so we drove through the east side neighborhoods of Portland, Oregon. He remarked at the beauty as we passed by yard after yard of beautiful flowers, especially the roses, which are everywhere, including the parking lot borders. He said he missed his wife and children at home, and he wished he could share the beauty with them. We paused at the Peninsula Park Rose Garden for this photo opportunity on the way back to his ship. He is home now with his family.
Fishing the Columbia River one evening at the public dock in St.Helens. This baby sturgeon has great grampas that are as long as 22 feet and hundreds of years old.

The River Avon at Bath near Poultny Bridge. Our first look at canal boats, but not our last. We enjoyed the view while relaxing in the gaily stripped lawn chairs.
"Hark! I hear a choir of angels!" I said. The angels turned out to be part of a choir from South Africa in Bath, England for a competition, walking down the limestone streets and singing for the joy of it.
Three Blokes from Bath. We met at the pub across the street from the Bath train station, and shared our trip back to London with them as far as their home in the next town.
From our first glance in Bath, we found the canals have a quiet beauty all their own throughout the midlands of England.
